Our goal is
to provide sea kayaking and trekking trips that allow visitors
to establish an intimate bond with nature in Península
Valdés. Our programs promote
environmental awareness and knowledge about the local native plant
and animal wildlife.
Your safety during our expeditions is of utmost importance and
our prime concern.
We work with highly competent guides and specialized quality equipment
for each of the activities to ensure optimum safety conditions.
Sea kayaking
lead guides on our expeditions are accredited by the ACSKG (Association
of Canadian Sea Kayak Guides). However, everyone plays a crucial
role in the group's safety by listening carefully to and complying
with the instructions given by the leaders.
During our
trips, a stand-by ground support team monitors our itinerary and
is prepared to give assistance if needed.
We operate with small groups (for added safety, less environmental
impact, custom service and more input from visitors) with a maximum
size of 10 plus a
leading guide and an assistant guide.
We set up
non-permanent wilderness camps to minimize our impact and, depending
on the program, we combine camping with overnight at typical
Patagonian ranches.
Our trips
are rated "moderately demanding". This means that participants
are expected to withstand 3 to 5 hours of paddling and 3 to 7
hours of hiking in
average, although these periods may vary according to weather
conditions.
We use two-person kayaks for our expeditions. They are remarkably
stable and seaworthy and are specially designed for this kind
of expeditionary ocean travel.
Even though
it is not our intention to paddle in rough weather, we cannot
warrant that there will be no sudden changes while traveling.
Therefore, all participants
must be prepared for adverse conditions such as temperature changes
or strong winds.
You will receive a pre-departure information package, including list of equipment, medical form, and everything you need to ensure a safe and pleasant trip.
